After that they spent time at the Soundstage Restaurant in that park.In 1992, a quarter century ago, the Disney film Aladdin took us on a magic carpet ride to a whole new world. They spit: The two spitting camels used around the attraction were originally built for the Aladdin's Royal Caravan parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios which ran from December 1992 to August 1995.To help them coexist peacefully stores and decorations in the area were changed to create a transition from the Arabic part of Adventureland to the South Pacific part. Prior to its arrival all of Adventureland was themed to the South Seas, just about as far away from Arabian theming as you could get. The introduction of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin also required some retheming in the surrounding areas. A change was quickly implemented so that cast members count parties rather than people and the magic tickets went away. Since parties frequently need to share magic carpets (one in front, one in the back) this created confusion when parties would split up or otherwise not sit as expected, creating loading issues. The problem was that the ticket represented one seat. Originally, "magic tickets" were issued to those at the front of the queue. One quick change made was in the boarding procedure. The Attraction's History: Not much room for change in such a short time, and mechanically the ride remains the same as in 2001.At this location: Even though it was not built until 2001, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is the first structure of significance in this area.Weight and Size Issues: Even with front and back seats, the carpet units are surprisingly roomy and if preferred a rider can sit alone. When at rest the carpets are near the ground so no climbing is necessary.Īudio: The only audio is the safety spiel and control instructions. ![]() Wheelchair Transfer: Users of wheelchairs must be able to transfer to and from the carpet ride units. To fully experience the ride, ability to manipulate control levers is required. Users of wheelchairs will need to transfer to the ride units. Ride Access: Riders of ECVs must transfer to wheelchairs to navigate the queue. Health Restriction: Should be safe for people of all conditions. The theming for the area matches the ride, with tile mosaics and jewels embedded into the walkway. Queue Description: The queue surrounds the attraction and is mostly shaded. However, the lines tends to not get very long and wait times rarely approach 30 minutes. Wait Times: With an hourly capacity of only around 1,000 guests this is a slow moving line. ![]() This attraction is open during evening Extra Magic Hours but not the morning version. ![]()
